Understanding how the language works, practising and discovering why we say things the way we do.
At this age, children can also learn Romanian consciously: they can notice rules, understand patterns and apply what they have learned, both in speaking and writing. Grammar is explained from the perspective of someone learning Romanian as a foreign language, step by step and building on what the child already knows. We also take into account difficulties that may arise depending on the child’s first language.
We use the direct method: Romanian is spoken throughout the class, and grammar rules are always connected to real language use. Children practise through activities and exercises, while their vocabulary grows naturally in age-appropriate contexts.
As children understand and practise more, they become more aware of how they express themselves. They learn to monitor their own language, notice when something is not quite right and gradually correct themselves, especially in writing.

- expand their vocabulary through exercises and materials adapted to their level;
- notice and monitor how they use Romanian;
- identify and correct some common mistakes, especially in writing;
- express themselves more clearly and confidently, both orally and in writing.
At this level, children begin to understand how Romanian works. And when that “Aha! Now I get it!” moment happens, a rule that once seemed complicated starts to make sense and becomes something they can use with greater confidence and independence. Classes take place in small groups, so each child receives the attention, feedback and encouragement they need to make progress.
